Trump overtakes Biden as favorite to gain in November

(Reuters) – U.S. President Donald Trump has overtaken Democratic opponent Joe Biden to stand as the favorite to gain the 2020 U.S. Presidential election on Europe based betting exchange Betfair, the exchange mentioned on Wednesday.

Trump’s chances, reflecting wagers matched on the peer-to-peer betting networking, stood at evens, Betfair Exchange stated, versus 21-20 for Biden.

Betfair Exchange claimed 4 bets of over 10,000 excess weight ($13,362) had been positioned on the wedge overnight, of which 3 were on Trump, while the greatest stake of the campaign so far, a 50,000 pound option, was positioned on the Republican nominee over the weekend.

These bets in part aided Trump to bring the lead, after being neck-and-neck with Biden earlier this week, doing an amazing restoration in the betting areas.

“In August, Trump had the most terrible chances for re election of each sitting President in history and defeat to Biden was searching increasingly likely,” Darren Hughes, spokesperson at Flutter Entertainment system Betfair Exchange, said.

A Reuters/Ipsos national thoughts and opinions poll on Wednesday showed forty % of voters that are registered support Trump, in contrast to forty seven % that stated they are going to vote for Biden.

Biden’s lead is basically unchanged over the past 3 months, during which each of those people held conventions to nominate their candidates Trump and Biden for the presidency.
